GALLERY & ARTIST MARKETPLACE

We are delighted to offer the work of reuse artists in our Gallery & Artist Marketplace, a dedicated space within our building that showcases works made with reuse materials. Our Gallery features local reuse artists in monthly gallery exhibitions, with opening receptions on the first Saturday of every month as part of the Wedgewood Houston Art Crawl. The Artist Marketplace showcases handmade arts and crafts, home decor, gifts, jewelry, and more from local and regional reuse artists. The constantly evolving inventory of items made by our creative community highlight the potential of creative reuse materials, and the marketplace is sure to become one of your favorite destinations for gifts for special occasions.

In this part of our store, everything is priced, and participating artists receive a 70% commission on sales. Shopping here means shopping locally and sustainably, while also supporting our creative community in the process.

On Exhibit Now

Join us on Saturday, October 5 from 4pm-6pm for our monthly gallery opening!

This month’s show: Reclaimed: A Hillsboro High School Recycled Exhibition.

This unique collection, crafted from recycled materials, embodies a creative journey towards sustainability and artistic expression.

In a world increasingly aware of environmental challenges, these young artists have harnessed the power of discarded objects to transform them into extraordinary pieces of art. Each work tells a story of a sacred object, person, place or experience, as well as demonstrates how ordinary materials can be reimagined into visually stunning and thought-provoking creations. From intricate sculptures to vibrant mixed-media pieces, Reclaimed highlights the boundless creativity and environmental stewardship of Hillsboro High’s student artists. Their work reflects a deep commitment to both their craft and their planet, offering fresh perspectives on how art can drive change and inspire sustainability.

Join us in celebrating the ingenuity and vision of these young creators as they turn the old into the new, proving that beauty and purpose can be found in the most unexpected places. Explore the exhibition, engage with the stories behind each piece, and be inspired by the power of recycled art to shape a brighter, more sustainable future.

Across town, at The Nashville Food Project, you can view a collaboration between Turnip Green Creative Reuse and FeedBack Nashville: Nashville’s Just and Sustainable Food Future. Featuring work from 12 local reuse artists, this collaborative community art project exhibits various interpretations of a “just and sustainable food future” through art created from sustainably sourced materials.

Our current food system is leaving people hungry, creating food waste, challenging small-scale farmers, and harming our ecosystems. We want to transform our food system to one that is socially-just; environmentally safe; and enables food to be produced, consumed, and valued in affordable, nutritious, and sustainable ways for everyone in our city. To date, FeedBack Nashville has collected 500+ surveys from Nashville residents about their current experiences of food in Nashville and what their hopes and dreams are for the future of food in our city.

Stop by The Nashville Food Project to see these thought-provoking works, and consider what a sustainable food future means to you! On view through the end of October.
